Amazing Finds For a Wedding Event

My brown stockings and turquoise strappy shoes
I like the headpiece this way than the band over my forehead.

I was in a 'good-grief!' this week as I have not yet found a suitable attire for a friend's wedding on Saturday. I tried to mix and match with what I already own but no green ticks. Out of all the problems in the world huh? My main concern was purchasing a dress and accesso's on a budgeted price. Anyways, I prayed and I asked the Lord, "Can you please help me find an outfit for under $20?" On foot, I drew images in my head before entering the boutiques of what I am looking for and preferences: long or three-quarter sleeves, flowy, not too short, a little different and unique from what everyone would normally wear at a wedding (no boob tubes, satin dresses or grab more of the attention than the bride etc). I was after something modest yet with glamour, one that will honour the beautiful bride and compliment the choice colours. You do not go to a wedding and dress up in a "screaming for attention" dress.....come on! Moving along...Suddenly, a lovely sheer brown and cream drop-waist dress caught my eye but it was missing an undergarment (as it was see-through). I found an ultra tight short black singlet dress to go with it and SHABAAM! It connected like old buddies. And guess how much both costs? $18! I remembered how I also owned thick brown stockings (perfect for winter) to suit it and use the turquoise shoes I bought two months ago from Rivers. So I quickly scanned at Target to find a matching turquoise accessory with my shoes and saw the big flowered headband with the original price of $15. I was like 'No way!' I ain't buying $15 for a headpiece. Since Target had sales and percentage off signs, I took a scan on a price checkpoint and to my joy and answered prayer, the headpiece from $15 became $1! Hot Dollar next door ain't got nothing on this one!

Lastly today, I wasn't satisfied and wanted to complete my 1920's inspired look with the theme colour of the wedding, so I went to check out some turquoise pearls at Equip. The one I specifically picked out had the price of $12.99. I was hesitant and so I went around somewhere to find something cheaper before realising there wasn't any as good as the $12.99. So I put on my courageous face to pay the lovely price until the sales lady blurted out "Five dollars." I'm glad I was courageous enough to return and purchase it! Phew!

In conclusion, my outfit costs $18 and accessories put together for $6. I will add my already owned shoes, stockings and earrings and fur scarf. !920's winter glam? You bet! Comfortable? Uh huuh!
